We arrived safely at the new house in Colleyville, TX. The Verizon guy was here when we arrived, installing the cable and internet, which makes it a lot easier to post this today. (I've been using my phone for the past 3 days).
The house is nice, and the animals are settling. The dogs were happy to see Art upon arrival, and everyone seems to be adjusting well. They may think this another hotel and are probably wondering when they will go home to the farm. :(  Although, I think they recognize the familiar furniture and belongings and are starting to feel "at home."
The house is nice and my mom and Art have set it up to work well for them. I think things will be fine here. Paul and I will be down for a visit this summer, at which point I plan to put good use to the pool in the back yard! (We may or may not be traveling in a small RV at the time...perhaps another blogging opportunity!?)
I fly back to Maryland tomorrow evening. I will miss my mom (and the animals!?), but I will be very happy to see Paul at the airport and to get home and sleep in my own bed!!
Thanks for reading and "joining" us on our adventure!!

Day 3!

Well, our 3rd and final travel day has gotten off to an interesting start. Loading the car was much faster today, and would have been even faster still if it weren't for the chatty upstairs neighbors at the hotel. They were out enjoying the view of the parking lot and train tracks with a cigarette, and we're fascinated with the pets! Topics ranged from the ages of the animals, to the costs and disadvantages of boarding pets (you know Camp Bow-Wow charges $36 a day, and you don't even know what they're eating!), to whether or not hotels provide guests with bags to clean up pet droppings! Stimulating conversation at 8:00 am.
We made it out of the hotel by 8:30, which is our earliest start yet. We were off into the rainy Memphis rush hour!
We made a quick stop (really just a turn-around at the driveway) by Graceland, with Margo's encouragement (and pretty much constant reminders!). Maybe someday I'll go back and actually go inside!
Now we are cruising down I-40 through Arkansas with less than 500 miles to go! Hopefully we will drive out of this rain soon. Art says the weather in TX is nice. Here's hoping!
For Margo!
